Reduction gearbox
Offset gearbox
Parallel-shaft reduction with an offset output yoke, for driveline packaging where a coaxial unit will not fit.
| Max input torque | 300 Nm |
| Max input speed | 10,000 rpm |
| Gear ratio | 2.96:1 |
Not every vehicle leaves a straight line between the motor and the axle. The offset unit is a parallel-shaft reduction: the output leaves on a different centreline from the input, on a yoke, so the motor can sit where there is room rather than where the driveline would prefer.
It reduces 2.96:1 and is rated to 300 Nm and 10,000 rpm at the input — a ratio close to the planetary unit's, with the packaging as the reason to choose between them.
Like the planetary gearbox it is built on the common Actium motor interface, so either can be specified against the same motor without redesigning the mount.
